Zarqa University is a prominent private higher education institution in Jordan, established in 1994 and located approximately 6 kilometers east of downtown Zarqa, the capital of Zarqa Governorate. From its modest beginnings with just 150 students, the university has grown into a comprehensive academic institution with over 9,000 students offering 43 specialized programs. As a key academic hub in the Arab region, it serves as the headquarters for the General Secretariat of the Colleges of Computing and Information Society under the Association of Arab Universities and holds the permanent secretariat of the International Arab Conference on Information Technology (ACIT).

The university comprises 13 faculties covering diverse disciplines including Science and Information Technology, Engineering, Economics and Management, Arts and Design, Islamic Studies, and Dentistry, among others. It also operates multiple research centers such as the Computer Center, E-Learning Center, and Islamic Cultural Center. As a member of the International Association of Universities (IAU), the Federation of the Universities of the Islamic World (FUIW), and the Association of Arab Universities (AArU), Zarqa University plays a significant role in higher education across the Arab world. The current president is Professor Nidhal Al Ramahi.
